Spray Application Courses
Training Courses in Spray Application Technology
Update your knowledge and understanding of spray application to the next level.
NQF Level: 6
Accredited: Crop Health Chair, University of Stellenbosch.
Modules available:
- Citrus.
- Pome & Stone fruit.
- Nuts & Subtropical fruit.
- Viticulture.
- Vegetables.
- Broad Acre Boom spraying.
Courses are tailor made to suit the requirement and either presented on-line (TEAMS) or in person at the customers' site.
Benchmark Spray Deposition
Find out how well your sprayers are set up and performing before you add the chemical to the tank! Making use of DROPSIGHT® spray deposition evaluation technology, the status quo of spray deposition efficiency is evaluated and reported:
- FPC% Formulation Deposition.
- Standard Deviation in Uniformity.
- Quality index of deposition.
Trial planning, lay-out, application, evaluation and reporting designed to optimize the customer's requirements.
Mechanisation Planning
Optimised specification requirements and mechanisation planning for sprayer equipment
Do you know which sprayer specifications and how many sprayer units are required to satisfy your farming needs?
An assessment of crops, hectares, tree sizes, terrain, available tractors and sprayers leads to a scientific analysis of the required fan momentum, tank size, air velocity profile requirements, pump and tank capacity to mirror the crop, crop dimensions and hectares to be treated.
Benchmark evaluation of shortlisted sprayers to determine Spray Deposition Efficiency achieved.
DROPSIGHT® course
Training in the best use of DROPSIGHT® SPRAY DEPOSITION evaluation technology to minimise risk and contamination and optimise biological outcomes from your spray program
- Benchmarking current deposition performances achieved.
- Decide on problematic instances and improve the set up, re-evaluate.
- Spot check of spray deposition efficiency throughout the season.
- Keep deposition records, compare, improve.
- Train personnel to drive the process.
Spray Machinery evaluated
Suppliers of Spray machinery:
Have your spraying equipment benchmarked in set up and spray deposition achieved in different crops
It is your responsibility as the supplier of spray machinery to know the best way of setting up and calibrating your equipment in different crops - and supply the end user with this information.
Can you do it? Customers will be asking for it - be ready or get left behind!
Act 36 takes the responsibility of proper and efficient sprayer set up and application right through the farm gate - the same customer that buys the sprayer from you, buys the chemicals and apply to his crops.
How does he know to set it up optimally?
Spray Machinery specifications
Manufacturers of spray machinery:
Consultative assistance in optimising design specifications of the equipment to suit the target crop. Dear R&D department: How do you decide on the design parameters of your sprayer project?
- Air volume delivery?
- Air velocity profile required?
- Tank size & pump capacity?
- Sprayer control systems?
- Optimised plumbing?
- Calibration check systems?
Sprayer specifications are determined by the target crop - do you have an idea on where to start?
Aerial Sprayers (DRONES, Crop sprayers)
Effective Swath Width optimisation.
- Using the proprietary DROPSIGHT® SWATH COLLECTOR Kit, the Swath width measurements are done accurately, measuring a single swath, presenting FPC% deposition, droplet density/cm^2 and droplet spectrum VMD.
- Importing the single swath data into proprietary software, yields the overlap swath data for different swath widths.
- This data allows optimisation of swath width for specific sprayers, flying heights and VMD droplet spectrum.
